Last First Day of School.

I'm always nervous to return to school after summer but this year I was more excited! I can't believe that I've already done my last first day of school!
I already knew my timetable as it is the same as last year which is awesome because it means that my teachers are the same and I'm with mostly the same people which is nice, it means I don't have to get used to anything new apart from rooms!
I really enjoyed going back and seeing my friends, and going back to lessons that I like instead of ones that I don't like, which is what I had with biology last year! My first Classics and English Lit lessons were good, and I got to look at the coursework questions for my English today and I'm so excited because there are quite a few questions that I can use the books I've already read for! I was hoping for some questions relating to Women, Madness or Obsession and I got two of those three in the form of six really nice questions so now the only problem will be choosing which one looks the best! My english teacher said that I have to resit my exam which isn't great though, I was hoping to avoid doing loads of exams but it seems like it's not going to happen!
Even though I know this year's work will be hard, I know I'm going to enjoy it and I'm looking forward to it already!
The only not so good thing about college this year is that the first years seem like a bunch of idiots which is annoying!

My Morning Routine

As I returned to college today, I thought it would be a nice idea to do a little post about how I actually wake up at stupid o'clock (6/6.30 am) each morning!

  • Nearly every day without fail, when both my alarms have gone off (one to wake me up, one to tell me 5 minutes later to move), I check my emails, my blog views from the previous day, The College Prepster's blog, any other new posts by other bloggers and Instagram. I follow a lot of people from America so there is always something new in the morning that was posted while I was asleep so I like seeing what's new when I wake up. It also makes me feel more awake so I feel off until I've done this. I find that reading something light and enjoyable is a good way to get my brain moving so I like doing this before I've actually got out of bed so when I do actually get up, I feel a bit more awake. If I'm running late, I have to do my internetting on the way to the train station.
  • I then have breakfast (something quick like a yoghurt and a glass of juice or squash), shower and clean my teeth.
  • I decided what I'm going to wear that day while I leave my hair to dry in the towel (it goes really frizzy if dried straight away, letting it dry naturally for as long as possible helps it grow less big and more curly which I like!)
  • I then do a quick blow dry of my hair and get dressed. If I have time I sometimes put on some mascara and a lipstick/gloss but this isn't a regular thing as I don't tend to wear a lot of makeup.
  • I'm out of the door by about 7.30 (sometimes 7.45...oops.) and on the way to the train station!
I know this is a bit of a rubbish post but it's fun to just write about things that you feel like instead of feeling like you have to write something that'll be super interesting but who knows, some of you might actually enjoy this and like seeing how I go about my morning! If I don't do things in the order I always do them, I'm bound to forget something which is never fun!
What sort of things do you do in the morning that's different? Let me know!

Blogger Problems.

I say to myself at the beginning of each month that I will do a post every day and every month I fail. I always get so busy in one way or another so it's difficult quite a lot of the time to actually keep up with blogging, especially if all I'm doing is working or something equally boring and time consuming.
I've decided that instead of a post a day this month, I'll just aim to do 30 posts; the equivalent of one a day but not necessarily having to post one a day. I could miss a day out and write two or three posts the next day but I think if I try hard to stick to this, it will stop me from leaving my blog unattended for a week or longer without a proper post. I think I should be able to actually complete it because this is already my fifth post of this month so I'm on target for once!
In doing this, I hope that it will keep me writing and blogging regularly because I love writing so it should help me with that and it gives me something to do other than work so it will hopefully force me to take a short break at least for half an hour a day or every other day which will be good for me as I tend to overwork and stress quite a lot so just sitting and writing something fun and light-hearted will be so nice and relaxing.
I just hope I can stick to it this time!

Lazy Days and Glitter

I was originally meant to meet up with my friend yesterday before she goes off to Uni in a couple of weeks, but she fell ill so I ended up having a lazy day instead! I spent quite a bit of the day writing new blog posts, reading Herodotus and I painted my nails again!
I have to read Herodotus for one of my A2 Ancient History modules this year so I have to read nearly the whole thing, it's so long and it jumps around a lot but it's interesting and I quite like it, it just takes a long time to get into it properly which sometimes makes it boring.
I got bored of my peachy orange colour on my nails so I changed it to something more Autumny. I used my Jessica nail polish in Marilyn that my parents bought me as a Christmas or Birthday present (I got it quite a while ago, but I've never used it until now!) and it's one of the best I've used, either just as good or even better than my Essie polishes! I love it, it's a metallic pink/purple that looks like a Christmassy colour. It went on really well and most nails only took two coats to make it the exact colour in the bottle but one coat was enough for a slightly lighter colour though. I also decided to try the accent nail trend and I used Rimmel Precious Stones nail polish in Diamond dust. It is really glittery with slightly bigger bits that stand out and look so pretty! I've never tried the accent nail or any other effects like glitter so this is completely new for me and I really like the way it turned out! I'm also glad that I'm not finding bits of glitter everywhere too because then it just gets annoying.

I love how this worked out!
I also watched Wall-E for the first time since I saw it in the cinema years go! I'd forgotten how much I love that film, even though there it's any talking for the first third or so, it's still so good! It's sad and funny and sweet and I love it so much! Who knew you could get so involved with a relationship between Robots?!

I only have today left before I start back at college tomorrow for my final year. To be honest I'm quite excited but nervous because I know how much work it will take and I know that I'm not very likely to be doing much else apart from work this year to ensure my grades go up. I also have to do my Uni applications so it all feels very final and like my next stage in life is really close. I'm so excited for Uni because it's so different from normal school and that extra independence will be really nice I think! I just need to work for it to make sure I get offers from my chosen Unis and then actually get the grades to go there! I'm just glad that I have really supportive teachers and I love all of my subjects so I'm going to work hard and I know that the help will be there if I need it.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Cream in Cotton Candy Review

I bought this about a week ago when I was down with Mark at the superdrug in Wimborne and I've used it so much in that time!
I was deliberating between Cotton Candy and Fairy Cake and eventually chose Cotton Candy because it is a brighter pink while Fairy Cake is more of a coral colour. I regret not getting Fairy Cake (and the other two colours!) as well though because this is one of my favourite lip products to date! I'm getting them the second I get more money! I hope the other colours look as nice!
Cotton Candy is a gorgeous colour and it smells like vanilla too which is amazing and rather addicting! Even though it's quite bright, it still looks relatively natural and doesn't dry out my lips. It is also pretty long lasting so it doesn't need many touch ups throughout the day. As it is a cream instead of a gloss, it isn't sticky or shiny but matte instead, which I actually really like! It adds to the natural look of it so it's more wearable.

I love this colour and I love that it's matte too!

The tube is small enough to slip into my bag so it's easy and convenient to carry around which is super handy! The applicator is also a nice shape and works on my lips really well. It is only a cheap product so it takes a few coats to get full and even colour but the end result is so worth it.

Cute and simple packaging!
I love these applicators!

If you like more natural and subdued colours or want something that is between a lip gloss and lipstick, I think this is for you. The colours available are pretty but not too in your face which is nice and makes them a lot more wearable than some other lipsticks and glosses. To be honest, even if you only like the smell of vanilla, buy one anyway because their smell is so gorgeous! Plus they have the nicest names that make them almost sound edible (except Powder Puff maybe...)! The only downside that I've found is the limited colour range of these, there are only four and despite them all looking amazing, there isn't a whole lot to choose from so I think they'll probably lose customers due to the fact that people might not find a colour that they like or one that suits them. I think they're well worth the money because they're pretty cheap for such good quality!
You can get them from Boots or Superdrug for £2.99 each.

I forgot to mention! Even though the Rimmel nail polish was majorly disappointing at the beginning, I've grown to love it due to the fact that it's still on my nails and barely chipped after a week without a top coat! I'm only taking it off because I want a new colour on my nails, its the end of summer after all and I need a colour that's less summery!

MotoGP

As a mini end of Summer treat, my dad got our family tickets for the MotoGP at Silverstone on Sunday. It was such a great day out! I've loved it since I was little so actually getting to see the races up close was such an amazing opportunity. We watched Moto 2 (lower class of bikes) first; it was so exciting and the atmosphere was great! The winner was an English man so everyone went crazy and cheered super loudly when he went past and won! MotoGP (highest class of bikes) wasn't as exciting because the leader stayed in first pretty much all the way through. It got exciting towards the end though when people started overtaking and closing gaps, every time someone overtook people cheered! The English guy in that race had crashes in the warm up and managed to dislocate his shoulder in the warm up lap so he didn't race as well as he could have which wasn't good but he still did really well considering!
It was a really great day and an even better end to summer - I'm so glad I got to go!

Pompeii and Wimborne

If you haven't already realised, I've been absent for the last 6 days! I was with my boyfriend down in Dorchester which was a lot of fun! I have also been super busy back home for the last two days (One day included the Emergency bag kit) so I shall do a blog post on that soon!
I finally got to visit the Pompeii exhibition at The British Museum in London and it was fantastic. It was really eye opening to see real everyday objects from an event that happened so long ago. You don't get to see what Roman life was like for poorer people as much as the rich so Pompeii and Herculaneum are rare chances to actually look into this world from a perspective other than the rich of that world. I found some of the exhibits fascinating but heart-breaking too. The were moulds of people that were found and you could see the looks on their faces which was haunting. Unfortunately, you weren't allowed to take photos and the book with the pictures and explanations in was £25 so I don't have any pictures to show you. This exhibition was absolutely fascinating though so please please please go and visit while it's still there, it's completely worth it and 16-18 year olds and Students get in for only £12.50! It is pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity so I really suggest you see this part of History that hasn't been properly seen before.
The day after, we went to Wimborne. It's such a pretty place and it also had some great shops which is always good! Being me, I took a trip to the Superdrug and bought a new lip gloss/cream which is amazing, but I'll do a separate blog on that sometime later on! All I'm saying is that it smells gorgeous and looks really lovely! There was also an old fashioned sweet shop so I bought quite a few sweets! Orange and passionfruit hard boiled sweets are some of my favourites now.
Thursday was a lazy day because the windows were being replaced in the house so we ended up watching films all day! I've finally seen Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows so I'm super happy about that! Even though I love the BBC Sherlock, Robert Downey Junior and Jude Law play Sherlock and John perfectly and I laughed so much through both of the Sherlock Holmes films!
I left Mark's house the next day but before, he bought me Marie Claire magazine to read on the 4 hour (lots of waiting between trains) journey back to my house. It contained a little tester of a perfume called Intense by Dolce & Gabanna and it smells so good! It has the cutest packaging too, if you pull up the tab, it turns into a little cardboard bottle that you squeeze and it sprays the perfume! It's amazing! The website says that the perfume has "subtle hints of Neroli and Green Mandarin, creamy and enveloping qualities of Orange Flower plays alongside the deep voracious trail of Tuberose, giving an intense full-bodied feminine signature to the fragrance, that turns heads and intrigues and the warm resinous Sandal Wood and the sensual Musky notes that blend irresistibly with the creamy addiction of the Guimauve, defining a powerful presence of captivating sensuality." It sounds so funny like that, but it's honestly such a nice scent. It's stronger so it's more of a going out, nighttime perfume but I love it.
