Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work we go...

It feels odd that I'm going back to college tomorrow after only getting back from my holiday yesterday. It also feels odd blogging again as I've been blog free for the last week! I also have no posts in my drafts or scheduled posts so I have no ideas to work off; the only posts that I have lined up are reviews/showing freebies I've acquired over the last few weeks or so which can get a tad boring. You'll have to bear with me over the next week as I try and balance college work and writing new posts again!
The trip to Norfolk me and my family went on this week was a much-needed break as I haven't been on a family holiday for two summers! It was nice to relax and do minimal homework but that means that I've had to do lots today to catch up which isn't so nice!
We spent a lot of time at the beach as we couldn't really anywhere with the dog and the rest of the time was either at home or in the nearby town. Even though we did next to nothing, it was a great holiday as I got to spend time with my family and do nothing without worrying about anything.

I actually really like this picture of me!
The beach we spend each morning walking Snoopy on apparently had a Humpback whale just off shore a few days in a row which was really exciting! We didn't see it but it was funny when there were lots of people with their binoculars and cameras crowding on the dunes to hopefully get a glimpse of it!

After a three hour car journey back home, I got a message from one of my secondary school friends asking if I wanted to go to see some fireworks with her and another friend. We went and it was amazing. I haven't been to a fireworks display for quite a long time so it was exciting to wrap up and catch up with a couple of really good friends while watching really pretty fireworks! It really felt like what I imagine autumn to be like which made me super happy!

I love fireworks, they're so pretty!

Sadly, I've had to do lots of homework today due in this week so it's been quite boring but I've been able to stay in my pyjamas all day which is always a nice bonus!
I've also found out that me and my family are going to London next weekend which is always really exciting - I'm planning on dragging them to the new J. Crew store that opens on Regent's Street on Friday, I'm super excited - I'll update more when I've actually gone!

Fears and communication.

I had a blood test done this morning...it didn't go well. I'm diabetic but I have a massive fear of needles. Ironic, I know. I get quite stressed out about having my blood taken but today my blood sugar went too low half way through and it ended up that I was shaking so much that the nurse had to stop half way through doing it because she physically couldn't get any more blood out...fun. I almost fainted and felt really sick so in the end she let me go with only half of it done.
It stressed me out loads and I've not been feeling right the whole day. I feel so drained and tired and also quite sick so I've been curled up in my favourite comfy lounge trousers since I returned from college, looking for more blogs to follow. I've found some really gorgeous blogs and some really lovely people who have kindly followed me back and commented on posts which had cheered me up a lot.
I love finding new blogs and new people to talk to, you never know who you will meet with just a few lines on a post of theirs and a click of the 'publish' button! Talking to new people is one of my favourite things to do because 99% of the time, bloggers are the loveliest people you will meet and real life people are pretty nice most of the time too as long as you make the effort.
I always make sure I talk to people that comment on my posts because I don't want to give the impression of being distant! The amount of bloggers that I see ignoring their commenters and followers confuse me, I don't understand why people wouldn't want to reply to someone that obviously decided to bridge the distance and attempt to communicate with them! Every time I've spoken to a blogger, it's always been great and I actually now have a great real-life friend from blogging so it works out well quite a lot of the time!

Half way.

I'm 15 days into my little post challenge and with 15 days to go, I wanted to do a quick update on how it's going! This post will end up being my 16th post so I'm a day ahead of schedule which I'm really happy with because I didn't think I'd be able to keep up with the amount once college started, but it's been easier than I expected - it's a really good way to relax and wind down after college and lets me write without it having to be work related! I want to continue writing the equivalent of a post a day in the following months because it's fun having to come up with different post ideas! If it becomes too difficult, I can always do one every other day which would make it easier!

I also went to my first of probably many 18th parties yesterday! It was one of my best friends from secondary school so I got to see pretty much everyone from my old school, and as per usual, it was great to catch up with them and it felt no different to when I used to see them every day! I also got to speak to some of my old closer friends that I hadn't spoken to for a while so I'm going to increase contact with them which will be really great!

P.S. This is also my 200th post! Time flies by, doesn't it?!

Blogger Problems.

I say to myself at the beginning of each month that I will do a post every day and every month I fail. I always get so busy in one way or another so it's difficult quite a lot of the time to actually keep up with blogging, especially if all I'm doing is working or something equally boring and time consuming.
I've decided that instead of a post a day this month, I'll just aim to do 30 posts; the equivalent of one a day but not necessarily having to post one a day. I could miss a day out and write two or three posts the next day but I think if I try hard to stick to this, it will stop me from leaving my blog unattended for a week or longer without a proper post. I think I should be able to actually complete it because this is already my fifth post of this month so I'm on target for once!
In doing this, I hope that it will keep me writing and blogging regularly because I love writing so it should help me with that and it gives me something to do other than work so it will hopefully force me to take a short break at least for half an hour a day or every other day which will be good for me as I tend to overwork and stress quite a lot so just sitting and writing something fun and light-hearted will be so nice and relaxing.
I just hope I can stick to it this time!

A new coat of paint!

If you look at my blog regularly, you might notice a few little changes to my blog. It's going to be weird to get used to it because I've had the same format since I began my blog but I really like this font and layout!
I've added a translate button, a search bar and an option to follow by email instead so it makes it easier! I also added a list of links to my Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest so people can look at other things! My favourite new addition is the Popular posts of the month - I've added it so people can find the most poplar 10 posts over the last 30 days easily; it's also fun to see which posts people are liking the most currently!
Let me know what you think of the new layout!

P.S. I've also changed my URL from http://theadorabledork.blogspot.co.uk to just http://theadorabledork.co.uk!

Camping

I've spent the last week camping and working on an archaeological dig near to me called Silchester, just outside of Reading. The dig is run by Reading Uni and I've been volunteering there for the last 3 years. Reading uni is one of my choices for uni so helping out at their dig is really useful to see what a whole other aspect of their archaeology degree is like! I also got to spend half a day at the university for some lectures and the buildings and teachers were really lovely! I also met some really great people and saw some others that I haven't seen for a long time which was really great! The one thing that isn't so good about the dig is the camping. I woke up every day without fail at 4.30 or 5 am.....it really isn't good when you have to be up at 8 and working in a hot trench all day by 9!
Before last week, I made some scheduled posts to go up throughout the week so I didn't have a bit gap between posts! I've never used them before so I was quite happy that they went up when I wanted them to!
I have quite a lot happening this week so I shall keep you updated!

Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes...

Today I was inspired by Sweet Lemon and their talk about fashion and just everything from clothes to arts to business!
I've decided to make a series of posts (One of each word in the title) dedicated to the clothes I wear! It's a bit of a spur-of-the-moment idea but if it goes right I think this will not only be really fun but actually quite entertaining! Plus it gives me a topic for 4 days in a row for my blog!! I don't know if its just me that finds this a cool idea but hopefully you guys will enjoy it!
It sounds a bit weird at the moment but hopefully it'll make a bit more sense tomorrow when I do the first post!
It's the first time I've tried to do anything like this so it's going to be a bit of fun! Crossed fingers it works out okay!
