I'm back!

Sorry I haven't posted properly for a while, the last week or so has been completely crazy! 

- I've had coursework due in for today so I was super happy to finally be rid of it and get some form of a life back! This weekend, I replanned and wrote my final draft and I barely went on my phone or computer which is really odd for me as I'm usually glued to it. It definitely helped though as I handed in my essay this morning completed and with all of the little extras my teacher says it needs! I've never been happier to get rid of a piece of work, I just hope it's good enough now!

- Over the last week, nothing has happened that is blog worthy apart from having a blood test done last week and having lots of driving lessons which is loads of fun! I'm really enjoying driving and I hope that I can actually pass when I have my test in early March! 

- I've been reading the complete collection of Sherlock Holmes and it's amazing! I love the original stories and I think Arthur Conan Doyle is a genius. I can't wait to read more once I have time!

- Even though I love Classical literature, I actually miss doing the art module in Classic civilisation because literature is so difficult!

- I haven't painted my nails in about two weeks and it feels so weird but my nails are stronger!

- I haven't been wearing lipstick for the last week either and I bought another today, I remember why I love them so much! I can't wait to show you!

I promise I'll post more now my coursework it out of the way!

TED talks

My Ancient History teacher shows my class a TED talk about the Cyrus cylinder about a month ago and ever since I've been meaning to search for more on YouTube as I found it really interesting and entertaining. I'd also heard other bloggers mention them before so I thought it would be good to have a look at some when I had the chance. 

I finally got some spare time to search for them today and boy, was it a good decision. 

I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of videos that I came across just on the main TEDtalks channel an I finally came across one that peaked my curiosity enough to click on the link. 

The first video I watched was called 'Peter Attia: What if we're wrong about diabetes?'. 

As someone who has diabetes, naturally, this was going to grab my attention and it was a really interesting talk about the link between diabetes and obesity. This led me to search through the suggested videos bar at the side of my current video to find the next talk that peaked my interest. 

I ended up watching 9 other TED talks, including these: 

• Cameron Russell: Looks aren't everything, believe me, I'm a model
• Amanda Palmer: The art of asking
• Amy Cuddy: Your body language shapes who you are
• Julian Treasure: 5 ways to listen better
• Joshua Walters: On being just crazy enough
• Daniel Tammet: Different ways of knowing

It's evident just from the 7 talks I've suggested here that there is a huge variety of different talks that will interest most people. Just take some time to scroll through the videos on the channel and click on the first one that catches your eye, you might be surprised!

Just a quickie...

Just wanted to say that I'm not going to be posting until Thursday night at the earliest, I have a Classics essay due in Thursday so I need to be manically writing that!

Note to self

As I found out yesterday, copying and pasting photos on to my blog doesn't work, and results in people only being able to see a blank box with a blue question mark in it...
To solve this, I need to save each individual photo, then add them in to the post properly.
ANOTHER NOTE: When adding photos, make sure you do it during your post instead of afterwards, otherwise it will mess up the alignment of the writing, change the usual font of your post and completely kill you inside due to your OCD, trying to get it back to where it was originally (ultimately making it worse).
Hope you guys enjoyed looking in to my mind! :P (and yes, I'm pretty sure I have OCD as anything that doesn't conform to the usual pattern or style kills me xD)
